Welcome to the world of Silk Painting! Leave your cares at the door, bring a friend, and step into a creative atmosphere. This is your opportunity to unwind and express yourself as we guide you through two days of silk painting. Absolutely NO previous painting or art background needed. However, if you are an artist, your own expression will benefit from experiencing this workshop!

Learn many exquisite silk painting techniques. You will paint eight technical silk samples (12inx12in). This is what you can expect from this intensive silk painting workshop with Diane Tuckman: you will learn the basic silk painting techniques and vocabulary to become an independent silk artist.

• Techniques: Stretching, diluting, resisting, spotting, salting, double loading, pen work, wet-on-wet, and steam setting.
• In-depth discussions, product knowledge, and many visual samples of hand-painted fabrics. Questions? Please call!
• Your fee covers all class materials, including: stretching frame, frame pins, silk fabric, silk dyes and containers, dye dilutant, water-based resist, gutta resist, resist applicators, resist designs, a variety of silk painting brushes, salts, pens, visually inspiring finished pieces, and more!
• Bring an empty egg carton (preferably plastic) and a roll of absorbent paper towels. If you wish, you can also bring a pair of latex gloves, a bag lunch, and something for “show & tel in any creative medium”
